Since 1 May 2026, E7 has bundled E5, Copilot, the Entra Suite and Agent 365. The real question behind the SKU: do your agents have an identity and an audit trail?
For two years the question put to companies was whether they would deploy Copilot. That question is changing shape. As agents multiply across SharePoint, Teams and line-of-business applications, what matters becomes their governance: who creates them, with which permissions, for how long, and who can retrace what they did. Microsoft has just given that question a commercial answer, and it takes the form of a new licence SKU.
The arrival of E7 and Agent 365 mainly signals that AI agents have become fully fledged administrative objects, with an identity, permissions and a lifespan. The right sequence is not to pick a licence and then look for something to do with it, but to inventory your agents, derive the perimeter that needs governing, and pay only for that. Helion Cloud can run that inventory on your tenant and price the three licensing paths side by side.
